2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Odds, Picks & Predictions (Quarterfinals)

The Women’s World Cup is down to eight teams. England is currently favored to hoist the trophy with odds of +270. Despite sending the United States home, Sweden has the seventh-best odds to win the World Cup, and they are underdogs against Japan in the quarterfinals.

Spain and the Netherlands will get the round started with what is sure to be an even contest. Meanwhile, tournament hosts Australia will look to keep their run alive against France.

Here are the best bets for the Women’s World Cup Quarterfinals

Spain vs. Netherlands

Doubting Spain’s offense in the Round of 16 was a mistake. Against a Swiss side that had yet to give up a goal at the World Cup, Spain put on a clinic, scoring five goals on their way to an easy victory. Perhaps the embarrassing performance against Japan is exactly what Spain needed to kick-start their tournament.

On Thursday, they will face a tough opponent in the Netherlands. The Dutch have scored in every game this tournament, and they handled South Africa with ease in the Round of 16. However, they have not had much success against Spain of late. In their last two meetings, the Netherlands have failed to score. Those games were only friendlies, but it still could be a sign of problems for the Netherlands in this round.

Spain learned a lot about themselves in their loss to Japan. While the Netherlands has the talent to score in this game, Spain should have no problem winning this one in regular time.

Bet: Spain Moneyline (-120)

England vs. Colombia

England is favored to win the World Cup, but they certainly have not been playing like favorites. They survived on penalties against Nigeria, and considering two of their three wins this tournament was by final scores of 1-0, it’s very easy to see why some bettors are not confident in them at all.

However, if there will be a breakout game for England at this World Cup, this is the one. We expect England to respond the same way we saw Spain respond after being obliterated by Japan. They survived against an inferior opponent, and now, with nerves out of the way, they will have the chance to get right against arguably the worst team remaining in the tournament.

This is a really good price for England, considering how inconsistent Colombia has been. Don’t be scared away by recent results.

England -1.5 (+160)

Japan vs. Sweden

This is an incredibly disrespectful line for the Japanese side. They have rolled through the tournament thus far, and if it were possible to eliminate pre-tournament expectations, they would easily be the favorites to win it all.

But Sweden just defeated the United States, and considering how many eyes were on that game, bettors will back Sweden in droves. Do not side with the public in this one. Sweden defeated Japan 3-1 in the 2021 Olympics, but this is a Japanese side playing with a different level of confidence and talent.

Japan has a lot of offensive firepower, and they have won each of their games by multiple goals. Sweden has been dominant in a few of their wins, but the Japanese competition has been better. Getting this at plus-money is a steal.

Bet: Japan Moneyline (+120)
