Expect plenty of drama, excitement and entertainment from one of England’s finest golfers this week as Ian Poulter heads into The Final Series. The race to Dubai starts in Shanghai and Poulter will be the man to watch going into this tournament.

In recent years Poulter has been in exceptional form over in Asia, winning several tournaments and regularly posting good rounds on their courses.

His last tour victory came in the WGC-HSBC Champions in 2012, which was likewise held in Shanghai. Last year he also came close in the same event, losing out by three strokes to Dustin Johnson. As well as that victory he also won in Honk Kong and Singapore beforehand, playing some of the best golf of his career to date.

In last year’s BMW Masters tournament he finished tied 15th on -4 and knows that going into this year’s event he has what it takes to go all the way.

Ian Poulter is a man known on the tour as a confidence player. Someone who when playing at the top of his game is a very hard man to chase down from the top of the leaderboard. It is also no secret to his competitors that he loves to play in Asia, admitting so to the press this week.

A world class field is present in the BMW Masters this week, with plenty of big names hunting down the lucrative purse of US$7 million. However, this won’t affect Poulter’s mind-set as he is a man that thrives under pressure.
