At the outset of preparations for the Week 6 TNF game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, the Broncos vs Chiefs injury reports were making it possible that a key component of each team’s offense might be inactive for this showdown between AFC West rivals.
Fortunately for both teams, that no longer appears to be the case. Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (sprained ankle) and Broncos RB Javonte Williams (quad) both returned to practice later in the week. The latest word from each camp is that both players will be suiting up and in action for this tilt between the 4-1 Chiefs and 1-4 Broncos.
Kansas City is the 11-point home chalk over Denver in the Broncos vs Chiefs odds. The Chiefs are 15-0 straight up in the last 15 games facing the Broncos.
So far in the Broncos vs Chiefs public betting splits, Kansas City is getting the vast majority of ATS handle (81% as 11-point home favorites) as well as almost all of the moneyline action (99% as -625-point home favorites).

Broncos Clark to Miss Old Mates
Frank Clark won two Super Bowls playing for Kansas City but the veteran LB won’t be going against Kansas City on TNF. Illness is keeping Clark out of action. Denver’s LB depth took another hit when backup Baron Browning (knee) was also a late-week scratch for this game.
A third defensive starter will also be spending TNF on the self. NT DJ Jones is out due to a knee injury. One of his reserves, Eyioma Uwazurike remains under suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.

Williams was inactive for last week’s 31-21 loss to the New York Jets.
Travis Kelce Looks Likely to Play
Kelce was hurt in last week’s win at Minnesota on a non-contact play. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday with his injured ankle heavily taped. Still, all indications are that he’ll be playing in the TNF game.
Sources: #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, listed as questionable, is expected to play Thursday night vs the #Broncos.
I’m told Kelce’s ankle has responded well after a non-contact injury during Sunday’s win over the #Vikings.

Two other key Kansas City performers have been limited in practice this week and carry injury designations of questionable. They are DE George Karlaftis (ankle) and punter Tommy Townsend (knee).

How Could Injuries Affect Broncos vs Chiefs Betting Lines?
Interestingly, even if Kelce is playing, maybe give him a pass in the Broncos vs Chiefs player props. In the past two seasons over four games against Denver, he’s never gone beyond 71 yards in pass receptions. Kelce has caught one TD pass in that span.
If Karlaftis can’t go or is limited in snap counts, they’ll be plenty of pressure on rookie Felix Anudike-Uzomah to step in and provide pass rush from the edge. He’d be playing his sixth NFL game.
Townsend is among the NFL’s best punters. Any absence or substandard work from him could make a significant impact on the field position battle for this game.
Denver is hopeful that TE Greg Dulcich might be activated from IR. He caught 35 passes last season for a 12.2 yards per catch average and two TDs.
